Update! I’ve done nothing since my last post. Well kind of. I decided to eliminate the internal overflow and switch to a modular marine overflow. They warned me about a wait on the website but I had no idea it was going to take 5 weeks. In either case I postponed breaking down the tank and I’m planning on doing it sometime in August or early September. I will break down the tank, eliminate the internal overflow, drill the tank for the external, and set up the tank on the new stand with new plumbing and partial new aqua scape…. Seems a little overwhelming. I may have to take a whole long weekend to get this done but I think it will be worth it in the end

All sps doing well even though everything is in a temporary home I think I’m getting good color and decent growth. I’ve managed to sell 95% of all the recordia which was another reason I was dragging my feet. I really wanted to get those out of there before breaking down the tank

So I’m order to drag this out as much as possible I took a bunch of extra work. At last I put it into the schedule during the few weeks I take off at the end of the year. Sometime between Christmas and New Years I’m going to break down the tank and do everything I mentioned above. (Unless the kids convince me to take a road trip(I love taking road trips with my kids(and evidently putting off the tank move(parentheses(!))))) Let’s see! I have all my supplies and the temporary spots the corals are in are not going to work much longer because they’re starting to encrust and grow.

Well we all got Covid for Christmas vacation! Was pretty weak but there was no way I was going armpit deep in the tank during my infection. Right now I am committing to taking a 4 day weekend and doing the switch before Spring is done! Couple picks I snapped today
