I hate to hear that man. Sorry for the loss. hopefully everyone else will be okay. Have you checked for stray voltage?

Thanks Chris. I've checked it before and I saw a little voltage in the tank but could never narrow it down to one specific piece of equipment. It seemed like every item added a little voltage to the total. So I installed a ground probe and it lowered it significantly.
Then I read that ground probes can actually make it worse so I removed it. Not sure what to do???
After talking and researching I think it's Brooklynella not marine velvet. Anyone ever dealt with it?

Just had time to look thru your thread. Nice progress so far. It seems like the more ppl I see switched to LEDs got some sort of algae bloom. Maybe it's just the threads I'm reading. So sorry to hear about your fish troubles, I've been there. Keep your head up. I went thru back to back ICH outbreaks and my clowns developed some sort of bumps, lumps, who knows (never ID it). I never use to QT ANY fish, but learned the hard way, and had the same issues with Ammonia when I started. Now I've got a good grip on it as well as HYPO for my ICH. All will work out and your doing a great job. Looking forward to the progress.

Thanks gator. I think between LED's and dry rock there are still a lot of things to learn for everyone as they are relatively "new" to the hobby.

Update:

As of last night the Foxface and the Blue Tang really don't have an appetite. The tang only came out for like 30 seconds to get a few pieces of food then right back into the cave where the shrimp hang out at. The foxface ate but not vorociously like it normally does. All the other fish seem to be eating normal. The clowns are now completely covered in whatever this is and almost have it flaking off of them. The Foxface's bumps are almost gone but you can still tell he's not 100%. Didn't really get a good look at the Tang but still looked the same as yesterday. For some reason the tang also likes to be tucked up next to one of the pumps. I thought for sure it was dead and the pump had just sucked it up but was just chillin' right up beside it. It has enough strength to swim and get away but has chosen to just stay there for minutes on end.

All the fish that have this worse than the others do this swim/dash technique like they are trying to get away from whatever is on them. None of them are breathing heavy or rapidly but all do this darting motion that I've never seen them do before. It's not at the same time either, so it's not stray voltage. The foxface has also been doing this zombie like motion where it just sits in the corner for a few minutes doing absolutely nothing then will just zoom off and act normal.

Not sure what's going on in there but this is rather frustrating. I dosed Herbtana again today which makes this day 5. Half-way through the 10 day directed dosing schedule. I thin I've got enough left for 2 days and the new bottles arrive Friday. Just in time, hope they are not late. Without the protein skimmer running the filter sock has started making the foam in it that I've been scooping out as much as I can. I am thinking of doing a 10 gallon WC on Friday just to help with water quality while the skimmer is offline but not sure if that will help or hurt the situation.

I'm not looking forward to going home tonight but fingers crossed all will be ok.

Sorry for your troubles. Been there a time or many. Sounds like ICH, but not 100% sure. My tangs (showing signs or not) would hang out in front of any pump, yet never scratched. I've tried most remedies out there and hypo has been a proven factor at saving my fish. My regal even went thru hypo just because I had no extra QT and my DT needed to be fishless. Thanks again Gator. I have no clue what disease is in there and no clue what to do or how to treat because I can't narrow down what it is. Moving forward a QT will be setup for all future inhabitants. Nothing is happening until I pass through this stage though. Hopefully all the fish will pull through soon.

A Step In The Right Direction

Ok people, good update here.

All the fish are still covered in whatever it is but last night all the fish came out with some rather good anticipation of eating. Not once, but TWICE!!! The Blue Tang is even coming back out of the rock pile where it's been hiding the past week to show it's face for several minutes during the 2 feedings. Eagerly eating is a sign of progress in my opinion!

Let's hope all of them kick this crap soon! Dosed day 6 this morning and might have enough left to dose tomorrow. The new bottles are supposed to come tomorrow but we'll have to see.

Ups and Downs

Well..... :(

I left the house Friday morning and things seemed to be turning for the better. Came back Sunday afternoon and could not find either clown fish and one of the firefish was missing as well. Searched everywhere including the overflow box and nothing. After a little more searching I found the shrimp in an area of the tank where the normally are not at. Found the small clownfish had wedged himself straight into a rock and was dead.
So far 2 loses to this disease that is in my tank... Frustrating.

Still trying to find the other clown and firefish...

The Blue Tang is eating 100% like it normally does but still has some white slime all over it. The foxface is not eating that much at all and just swims around like a zombie and acting really strange. All other fish are eating well and doing good. Yesterday was day 10 of dosing Herbtana. Water change tomorrow. I put the skimmer back in the tank yesterday but it's just overflowing like crazy even with the gatevalve all the way open. I took the skimmer cup off and just let it run while overflowing. It just overflows into the sump so it's not harming anything. I am thinking that it is going crazy due to the Herbtana and is probably having to break in again due to being out of the tank for 10 days. I'm thinking it will settle after I do the WC.

Ok, good to know. Will the microbubbles affect any of the fish or corals? As of last night all the corals seemed ok as some of the microbubbles do make it into the DT.

That sucks ryan. Just read the latest. I know your already into your medicine regimen but i had great success with kick ich in November. I hope everything works our for the good. I feel your frustration.
