Bass and leopard are two of my favorites! Don't do the purple dotty! I just had a heck of a time getting one out of my tank... They are a holes! Almost tore down my tank to get it...
Yeah I know, they can be mean. I think the misses just liked the bright purple. What's your experience with black cap basslets?

I've got a purple dotty back in my 300 and it's fine for me. Haven't had any problems as long as he gets to claim his lil area. They are hardy colorful fish. Black caps are a favorite of mine as well.

No issues. I have a bass and leopard in my tank now and they've been great. The purple used to chase them more than anything. IMHO Don't get any type of dotty. I was given a "really mellow" purple/yellow one recently. Yup... He won't leave my leopard alone. I'm right back where I was :(

Yes I would say if she wants the purple look get a striped basslet and a black cap basslet. They'll get along fine and you won't have to worry about pretty fish syndrome with your dottyback

Added a tester stylophora today, two fire fish, a couple scarlet hermits and some more cerith snails. Nice to finally have some life in the tank! I also put together my screen tops. Both fish look very healthy and are eating without hesitation. Today was a good day for the 120 peninsula!

I like your fish list. Of the fish on your list, I have:

purple firefish (very shy, always hiding)

pair of designer clowns (snow onyx) that NEVER EVER leave the nems

Green mandarin (always out and active)

Trio of female vermiculated leopard wrasses (they school together, always out and active, and right now my favorite fish in the tank)

Otherwise, I have a blue hippo who cruises the tank non-stop....great to watch. Goby/pistol pairs are fun. I love watching mine. Pistol is constantly working. (Randall's goby and tiger pistol). I've also got 5 ventralis anthias ordered and an orange spot blenny. I'll let you know how those are when they acclimate.

I plan on loading my tank up. I've got a lengthy list as well. [emoji41]

@Chriscrna are you QT your fish? I did not with these first two (I know risky, tisk, tisk). I'm going to going forward. Hopefully I didn't already contaminate my tank.

I have a horror story. I never used to QT any fish until I had a problem. I had a 5-6" Marine Betta (about 5 YO) and a 17 YO 5-6" blue/black damsel in my tank and found a nice dogface puffer. Put him in the tank after acclimating and within 2 days everyone was dead. Puffer had his slime coat separate from his body on the 1st day and the next day they were all dead.

SO now I QT all my fish. The puffer was bought locally too.

What's with the one word answers Chris? Tell me why your not concerned? Do you have a miracle cure, or a miracle LFS that guarantees disease and parasite free fish?

LOL sorry I'm at work right now.

There is no rhyme or reason as to why I'm not concerned. Probably because I've never QT'd and never been burnt. I know I will regret it if and when I get burnt.

But..........I do have a 40 breeder set up specifically as a QT in the sump room. I will start putting all fish from here on out in QT. Just haven't done it yet.

Nice job, I'm glad I did the peninsula. It's nice to be able to walk all the way around the tank and view every side. Don't think I would do it any other way in the future.
