Yeah @Fudsey I have used them for aptasia in the past but have had mixed results. There is only one that I can see at the moment. I think I'm just gonna cover it with epoxy and see if that works first. Then resort to livestock for removal if 1 more appear or 2 epoxy doesn't work.

Got the full AF lineup this weekend and just started dosing everything. I do have this new algae, or maybe hydroids. Currently have a post going in the algae ID forum. Working on an ID, at this point we are thinking hydroids. Gonna be sending a sample off to @twilliard this week hopefully. Here are some pics if any of you folks have some ideas please let me know.

Got my algae sample sent to twilliard yesterday. I did find that I have a hydroid issue. They are very small and clear. My sump is infested. The underside of my aquascape is pretty covered too. Not sure if they are bothering anything or not. Been struggling with my dosing, and my frags are in rough shape right now. I think my alk has been swinging too much and too high for my nutrient levels. I also think I might be starving my corals. So I stopped dosing the bacterial components for now and have been feeding heavy to try and drive nitrates up. Think I'm starting to figure out my balling method dosing.

In other news going to the hospital tomorrow so my wife can have labor induced. Everything is fine with the baby. The doc just doesn't want to risk any complications by letting the pregnancy go any longer. So I will be a dad early this week! I'm excited to see my son for the first time. A new chapter in life is about to star!

Here he is the latest addition to my family. And hopefully a new and brilliant reefer. This is Enzo our very healthy and happy little boy. Born 11/23 at 9:17am, 7lbs 4oz, 19 5/8" long. Mama is doing great! Hopefully we can go home today! So without further ado......

Today's parameters
Temp 77-78
Salinity 1.025
Alk 7.0 dkh
Calc 480
Mag 1360

Still waiting for my new nitrate and phosphate test kits. Nitrate will be Red Sea and phosphate Hanna ULR. First time the tank has had consistent readings since I switched fully over to AquaForest. I may loose most of my 6 SPS frags but I'm hoping they bounce back. Got my GHL doser ordered which should help tremendously with stability. Due for a WC this weekend.

This went from 2 heads to what you see now in less then 6 months. And that's after the crash.

I'm adding all that and then some using Aquaforest. Now that I have things dialed in I need to stay the course. Stability is key with SPS, and that's what happened in my case. Instability...[emoji53]

Levels today
Alk 7.0dkh
Calc 440
Mag 1360
Nitrate 0.0
Phosphate 0.02
Temp 78

3 of my 5 SPS frags are all but toast. Lots of tissue necrosis. They are still hang in there in some spots but I fear the worst. The other 2 I just can't tell yet what they are doing. My Heliopora and Hammer are doing fine. I think my alk swings from when I started the full lineup and the 0.0 nitrates were just too much. I decided to remove my filter sock. And cut my ProBioS dose in a third so rather than the recommended 6 drops I'm going down to 2 in an effort to drive up nitrates. Hopefully that helps what remains recover. If not it's not a huge loss. It was a $20 frag pack. I just always hate to kill livestock especially over something so basic. Stupid mistakes make me remember that despite having 15 year under my belt reefing, I am not infallible. Dumb mistakes can happen, and lack of focus in the details can ruin you.

I may be wrong but I think your temp may be a bit on the warm side and that can also effect how The parameters are acting on the coral ?

Directly from Randy's recommendations from the sticky in the general section on optimal reef aquarium parameters. In reef aquariums 76-80, ocean surface levels variable. What are you running your tank at?
