120rr lighting suggestions (4x2x2)

upgrading from a 90rr to a 120rr tank (4x2x2). Right now I have a tek 6 bulb t5 fixture in a Canopy. Thinking about going LEDs with no canopy for the 120. What do you suggest? Pics would be great! Thanks

how old is that tek fixture? if it was me , I would consider removing the center bulbs and reflectors and placing two kessil 360's or 2 AI hydra's or 2radions (whatever led brand that turns you on.) keep it all tucked away in the canopy or hang the fixture over the tank by itself . Controllability of leds and coverage of t5 , you'll be very happy . Just a thought.

I personally went with an 8x54 watt ATI Dimmable fixture as the primary light and 2 kessil A360WE LED pendants for accent lights on my 120 and I am very pleased with the results. You can see more details in the link to my build in my signature.

If I were to go with LEDS personally as a stand-alone lighting solution I would probably be looking at at least 3 Ecotech Radion xr30 fixtures to ensure even coverage and proper spectrum/intensity.

What type of tank are you trying to achieve? This information might be helpful in recommending lighting solutions for your needs.

I have a 48x30x20 tank on two radions and two retrofit t5s for supplement. I am going to purchase a 36 inch ATI t5 fixture and run my radions on the side pointed in because I like the shimmer of leds. With that being said, it all depends on what you are trying to achieve? I want growth and color out of my Sps tank which is why I am going to run that much light, and because I already have the radions.
