Anyway I like scopas tangs, they are have a very drab coloration but they make it up in personality. I may get a scopas, and two more sub adult convict tangs

I like purple tangs too, however I cannot stand their high price tags, pacific blue tend to be hardier than powder blue from what I hear, the convict that I have has been very good.
i love my convict tang sm

All I can say is I think the convict tang is a good “first acanthurus tang”
eh. most vendor sites have them marked as moderate care bc some just don't eat at all which has happened to a couple people on here

I said first acanthurus tang, not first tang in general in which I would suggest one from the genus zebrasoma, for acanthurus, a convict tang is a better option than a powder blue, powder brown, or whitecheek if a beginner wants an acanthurus genus tang

i disagree but only because ich proneness is easier to treat than not eating. kinda a tough call we both are right lol

UPDATE: The stocking plan has changed dramatically due to fish in stock at my local shop.

here is what is in that tank now
2x ocellaris clownfish
1x Midas blenny
1x orchid dottyback
1x convict tang

any suggestions for other tangs, and other fish in general?

Why limit your stocking list to what you can find locally? I’ve only heard good things about:

And you can choose between quarantined or conditioned, based on what you want to spend and what you want to do for QT on your own.
