125g Marineland build

I’m setting up a 125g FOWLR and plan to document the build here as much as possible. It’s a Marineland 125 (not reef ready) and I’ll be doing a DIY stand (based on RocketEngineer’s thread - thank you). I got the 1600gph overflow from Modular Marine and will drill the small side of the tank since it’s being set up as a peninsula style. I’m not sure on the sump yet - sort of leaning toward 40g breeder with diy kit. Otherwise the cost for a nice sump gets considerable pretty fast.

Drilling went well! I previously had to drill the 60 cube so it wasn’t as nerve racking this time. Drilling 2 holes took 1/4 of the time it took me to drill 1 the first time lol

Still deciding on the sump. Someone in my area has an Eshopps AR-200 for $240 and I’m tempted. What do y’all think? Also need to figure a way to cut my own wood since home depot said they can’t guarantee precise cuts. Renting a table saw from them might be my best option.

I suggest getting a chop/miter saw on Amazon. You'll use it more than you'd think.

I’m having a heck of a time with this DIY stand (I have zero experience in woodworking) and am unsure how to proceed from here. Any help is welcome! Is this salvageable? Scrap it and start over? Shim? Please help.

I’m using RocketEngineer’s diagram from an old thread (the color coded one) - it looked doable for a beginner and I went it with confidence. Now I’m humbled and rethinking this whole thing
