Things started off harmless enough. I traded a local some coral for his old 135 cube. The stand was pretty rough, but solid. Took a few days to get it cleaned up. (and a scratched eyeball. Eye protection is a must...even if you wear glasses!!)

The tank had been sitting with crud from it's last life for quite a while, but nothing an acid bath couldn't handle. New bulkheads and valves for the (7) drilled holes in the PVC floor. I had to scrape off and re-paint the back glass, as well. The original layout of this tank had a center overflow that was re-located to be offset to the left of center on the back wall. Those four holes will work nicely for a closed loop, after some creative plumbing.

Synergy reef RM-34 sump setup for a reefmat 500 fits perfectly under the stand.

This system is an upgrade for my mother-in-law. They've had a 40 cube for about a year now that I've been maintaining with the Reef Moonshine method. The tank is thriving, but we needed a better solution than me having to dose daily. Even with just a walk across the street. As they say.. Winter is coming. And I don't like the cold. Lol

Trident and NP for automated testing. Alk and Calcium will be on a DOS QD, with all my daily moonshine elements on reefdose pumps. We waited for black Friday sales and ordered from tax-free vendors to save a bundle. I had to throw together a shelf to make room for the robots.

The return pump is a COR-20, with a COR-15 to feed the external Bashsea 6-24 skimmer. Went with the big boy Vectra L2 for the closed loop.

i can't wait to see this tank running. i want to start up a 60g-90g+ cube. not sure what kind of tank...if predator FOWLR, small wrasse haven, etc
Hopefully I'll be filling it on Friday. Waiting for BRS to deliver a screen top kit. Ordered a week ago, received everything but the net top kit today. The second tracking number they provided doesn't even show USPS has the item. That's the one essential component that's left.

Just got off the phone with BRS support. Already got a replacement in processing via UPS in case the original doesn't ever show up. Hats off to them on this one.
