Well, murphy caught up to me. Looks like there was some sort of plug in my drain system. Both the main (full syphon) and the emergency plugged a decent amount and put ~50G of water throughout the display room.
Luckily I put the tank so far in the corner, and so high, that I cannot actually see what's going on in the overflow :/
Over the next week or so I'll be pulling the tank down and rebuilding. Going to take some time to change a few things that have been an issue.
The stand is being lowered to 32" versus the 38" that it currently sits at. This will help with access and visibility.
The side of the tank will be 18" from one wall and 7" from the other - allowing for a walk board along the side of the tank and room for plumbing/power heads on the other side.
Swapping my 2x hydra 52's with 2x T5's for a 400w reefbrite halide/LED mix - Want to get rid of the dark spots that I'm filling with the T5. The hydras will go over my 93 cube.
Removing the carpet from under the stand - it is now soaked and starting to smell like stagnant seawater (wife does not approve).
Hopefully these changes will be complete by the 10th and it'll be back in operation with minimal losses...
Yeah, it should be good. I've got it running over the 93 with good results. Have more coral in the 150, and the director is closer to the 93. Hopefully this is a win-win.
Back online. There was a hermit crab in the emergency drain and the strainer on the main got clogged with a piece of Nori. Got the halide running and clamped part of the stand that looked rough. New stand construction begins when I get back from vacation.
All the wood has been purchased for the stand rebuild. Going to get building tonight. I've got a 75 to hold some livestock and a 100g Rubbermaid for the rest.
Here is the mock-up for the stand. The cover of the red shelf will be in the corner of the room.
It's been a bit since I updated this. Things have been going well. The switch to halides has been noting but awesome. Great growth and color.
Relocated to foxface to my 93. I guess I startled it one morning when I turned on the room light to look for my shoes. It jumped right out of the tank at me.
Cleaned the sand today and got a good glimpse of the return water flow to the tank. Knew it was high, but this was a s
