Well day 2, so far only the 20k arc fires in 2 of the 3 reef brite bulbs.
Each arc fires at each time the bulb receives electricity from the ballast.
If one of the bulbs isn't working remove that bulb and install it again. It could be that the bulb wasn't screwed all the way in. Check the connections between the ballast and the fixture too.

I've got the 10k and 20k reefbrite twin arc bulbs. My understanding was, first the 10k fires then the 20k after you turn the lights off and back on on.

So far one bulb burns 10k and then 20k when you turn off and on. The other 2 bulbs are only burning 20k so far.

I think you need to contact @Reefbrite .

I spoke to Martha ( I think) at reefbrite. She said there's no guarantee which arc will fire. Didn't really offer too much beyond that.

I let them burn in for a few more days, and they' started firing correctly. As long as I only wait 2 minutes between the firings, the 2nd time is consistently 20k.

Since I've added the halides, bubble algae is popping up all over the place. Probably the 10K bulb. I've gotta get a fox face!

Get a Sailfin Tang (Z. desjardinii). They do a great job with bubbles.
Yes, you need to wait couple minutes between firing the arcs. That is the way the type of halide/ballast works...
