New nano build thread for 2022.
I have had this tank and stand for 6 months now and use the stand for my frag systems electrical.
Tank- used Aquatop AIO 18" cube.
Around 20g's total before
rock, baskets, coral.
Stand Aquatop
Return pump Sicci 1.5
Lighting AI Prime 16hd
3 basket system
Bottom 2 ehiem substrate pro glass sintered balls.
Top 1 for carbon, gfo, floss, ect.
In tank flow 1 ow25 to start.

16hd 8" off the surface for 2-300 par in a 12" growth area.

I purchased another 16hd and will be running two now.
Not sure yet on setting and height.

I have some live rock in my frag sump and will take one piece out of the frag systems display.

No sand going bare bottom with lots of flow.

No skimmer.

Actual tank inside dims are
17×14x16. So my 12x12 dim for the rockwork will give 2" clearance on the front amd 2.5" on each side.

I will run my parameters the same as my other 2 systems and will use water from them to startup the Nano.
Salt IO regular
Temp 77
Sg 1.0265- .027
Alk 8
Ca 420
Mag 1350
K 410
Po4<.1
No3< 5
WC 2g's every 2 weeks, depending on nutrient levels
ESV 2 part
DSR EZ Trace
Tunze nano ato

The stags will be from my 120 and frag system.
Surf & Turf
Green slimer
Blue Matrix
Blue slimer
Purple slimer
Dark green stag
Light green wild stag

Going to try and locate a red colored stag.

I want to keep this all stags maybe 1 or 2 other acros but their is not much room in a nano.

Fish - unknown at this time.
Snails a few shrimp.

Waiting on Sicci pump.
Still need to order 16hd hanger and Tunze ato.

Couple pics to start.

This is gonna be sweet. I really like my prime 16HD when I ran one in a sumped frag section. Maintained color very well and has a nice crisp white to it.

Tagging along.

Following my friend :)
Do you have AI Prime HD schedules already?
No just picked it up yesterday.
I am going to use BRS video recommendations to start.
8" from the surface at the 12" cube setting will give me enough par I believe.
I replaced the aio standard pump with a Sicci 1.5. Just need the ai mounting bracket to get started.
The first of next months 120 & 45 water change will give me all the water I need to get up and running. I expect no cycle with my live rock and bio media thats been in my sump for a month now.

Just need to order my Tunze nano ato and im good to go.
May not need a heater this winter as the 45 frag system stays 77 without one in the same room.
They are both in the snake room which stays 75+ year round.

Yeah the BRS schedule might be nice.. i must say too much whites causes alot of algae issues in my nano.. so everything below 20% is a chaos for my tank. I am using @Waynerock schedule and I am happy for now.
@Charlie's Frags did a PAR measurment for his frag tank and he also rund the AI Prime HD might be worth asking him.

Agree. Whites will be around 10-20% I believe. Plenty of snails keep algae at bay in my other systems. I run 2 per gallon with good results. Both other systems are halides so quite a bit of white vs blue.

A couple new pics. Tank is wet and salt is mixing! The 20gs of salt will be used for my 12g WC on my 120 and 6g WC on my 45.
I will then use the WC water to fill the nano.

The plan after that is to transfer the amount of live rock I need to fill the 12"x12" from my frags sump and 1 or 2 pieces from my frag display and fuge.
One piece already has a medium sizes stag on it.
All other stags will be added in a week or so.
I do not expect any cycle.

Sicci 1.5 is moving more water than I expected. I am running without the gaurd as it was needed so it would fit with none of the pump touching the glass.
I can actualy see the impeller which is kind of cool and its dead silent.

Eheim 50 watt heater added and small floss box for the overflow looks like its going to work.

I also have the 18" ai mount fixed and ready to go covering a 12" square at 8".

Tunze nano ato will be here tomorrow and I will get it installed.

Fish # and type undecided but no more than 4 I think.
Jebao controllers are for my frag system.

I removed the heater as the tank stays 77° without it.
I also removed the overflow basket and most likely will run without.
I also got the Tunze nano up and running.
I also purchased another 16hd and will run 2.

Today I did my monthly 12g wc on my 120 and 6g on my 45 frag system.
I used the water from both to fill the nano.
I used 4 live rocks, 2 from my frag display and 1 from the sump.
Also took 1 from my 30g fuge.

Scape looks ok for now.

Also received my AI hangers today.
1 was bent but a quick trip to the table vice and its squared up to the other one.

I need to register my other 16hd and get both hung.

Im running 2 baskets of eheim substrate pro and 1 basket of seachem matrix. All were in my sump for a few weeks.

Again no need for a heater as tank stays 77 in the snake room.

Its hard to get a good pic as it sits in front of some snake drawers that you can see in the pic.

Im running the hanger upside down so I can hide the cord.

Looking good brother! Where did you place the 3 baskets of substrate/matrix?
The third chamber of this nano holds the 3 baskets. Its the chamber after the heater in this pic. They are the standard baskets that come with the Aquatop AIO. You can see them in the second pic upper left of my 120's sump.

Sounds good man! I was also thinking of adding Siporax into a filter bag anf throw it in. But how often do you exchange renew the media?

Never. Siporax is the same as Eheim substrate pro, sintered glass, only balls instead of rings. Matrix is pumice.
