First thread ever, so bear with me lol.

Starting my upgrade from a 48x18x24 90g tank to a 72x24x24 180g.

My 90g currently houses a pair of percula clowns (one orange, one black), a yellow tang, and a desjardini sailfin tang along with a mix of soft, LPS, and SPS coral.

Here’s the 90g that I’m currently running.

Welcome to R2R, the 90 looks nice... following for details on the new build (and living vicariously through your bigger tank) ;)

Looks great so far! I'm working on a similar sized build and will be painting the back of my tank black as well. I plan to clean the back glass regularly. The black is really going to make everything pop.

Have you already got a sump that you're going to use on this system?

I won't have the sump for a few weeks. A buddy of mine that does acrylic work is going to be making me something custom.

The tank has finished cycling!

Next week I'll be getting the sump and return pump plumbed in and I'll be building the canopy and stand wrap.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
