I’m getting par outside and on second floor lol! I can’t imagine what 15 will look like… Maybe 15 overkill?

I thought so too, but to the naked eye it is insane amount of light that 5x500’s put out. I can’t wait to do leak test and hopefully I’ll have some par numbers with just 5 500’s over tank. After I add row 2&3 would be intresting to see par numbers mounted so high 40”+
You'll have insane par in the middle 24" width. Outside it will fall. I grew sps at the bottom of my tank when I used 4 350w and the 500's are insane par monsters

Are you acclimating your neighbors?

I've been asked if we are growing you know what in the basement because of the different color lights throughout the day.
Yes, yes I am. Lol
My neighbors are well aware of the beast that sleeps in the basement the day it was delivered to the house hahahaha.

I always have had that question asked thru the years of reefing.

Exciting build, congrats!

if possible, putting the sump in another room and not under the tank will make life so much easier in the long run for maintenance in a tank this size.

nothing beats not having to crawl under a tank to reach a stubborn union or piece of equipment that needs to be maintained.

I hear you loud and clear, just plumbing this temporary sump to perform leak test was a pain. I can only imagine getting in there to clean the skimmer and maintain sump. I can tell you now after this plumb job, having sump under tank is off the table lol.

Good to realize that early

If you have the space, would recommend raising the sump about 18” off the ground, either with a diy stand or you can do what I did and put the sump on dunnage racks.

it makes it extremely comfortable to perform maintenance tasks when the sump is raised and you don’t have to crouch or bend over to do anything.

Got the G6, love the light color and spread. Much better than G5.
The Fan isn’t working but no other issues with it.

The fan not working on the Radion seems like an unacceptable issue for a new light. Would request an exchange.

It’s such a great light, I’m not even worried about fan lol. But yes its gonna be returned. Mobius app still difficult to use is my only gripe. I’m now considering using 10 xr15 blues as fill light for my 5 kessils. I still think Kessil is the better of the two. Something about the dense matrix cluster that can’t be touched.

My frag tank is bare bottom so I can’t tell if there is static/disco like the G5

I'd vote for white, I think it'll look the best in that room.

Have you looked at the Neptune sky for lighting? A friend with a 360 gallon switched his radions for them and I think they're much much better than the radions he had.

If I would go for something like the sky, it would be the ati Straton.
