Without a doubt, for me personally, my experience with DR REEF has been the best and easiest. All my fish are alive and well, and have been for about three years now. There was an incident during the last delivery: the UPS driver didn't deliver the package on Friday. No matter where I tried, everything was useless. I contacted DR REEF, and they reassured me that they would replace it. UPS delivered it in four days. Imagine my surprise: all the fish were alive. I still have 75g. I bought a Waterbox 230.6 and am now slowly installing it. I need to order another 10 fish.

Hi
I am really sorry to hear about the copperband and powder blue passing away. Copperband can be 50/50 but powder blue should have been hardy. Sometimes stress of qt plus shipping and acclimation etc can get to some fish even when they are hardy.
Anyhow that's not the outcome we are looking for so please PM me your order# we will replace the 2 dead fish for you at no cost to you.
We wanna see happy customer with healthy fish in your tank.
Please PM me and we will get it taken care of.
Happy Reefing

Nvm I found your order and added a powder blue and copperband to it. Will ship this week. Let us know how they do this time.

Well that is/was unexpected but very appreciated!!

I look forward to receiving them and trying again. I’ve seen, read, and heard of you going above and beyond restitution with things like this. It’s nice. Thank you very much.

Thanks for the update! Personally I'm leaning towards Fishotel for my next order. Great reviews but unfortunately not a lot of stock.

I love Jeff and have dealt with him a few times. He is fantastic. Yes his stock is low as he is often doing group custom orders. The only bad thing about that is you never know what or how many of the requests will get filled from the source ( Bali, Australia or etc).

So far I am very pleased with my experience with Dr reef. The great thing about Dr reef is the list of fish available to him seems unlimited almost. And so far as you can read above, he is definitely going above and beyond what I would expect.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either choice at this time.

So for anyone on the fence about ordering fish and reading my thread here on my experience, I wanted to give one final update.

First and foremost, the customer service has been excellent. The Dr has done more than expected to make things right.
Shipping was great.

But in the end, it’s all about the fish I think. If you are reading this thread, you should know that I lost a few fish from the first order. The Dr replaced them no questions asked.
The replacement fish came in a little bit larger. Everything arrived alive and looked great.

In about 1 week the copper band passed. For the whole week, it seemed to be hunting and eating. On day 6 or so however it was just hanging out in the corner of the tank and sure enough it passed overnight.

The replacement flame angel looks good overall but has eye flukes or something. On about day 3, I noticed its left eye was so cloudy and white . After a couple days it cleared up and a couple days later the fish’s right eye is now covered. It was so bad I actually had to really look and study to see if it had lost the eye or if it was just completely infected or covered by something. It has finally started to clear back up. I decided to try and get a picture just now of its eye. And to my surprise I just found it stuck to the overflow. Still alive but only in technicality

The replacement powder blue tang is looking and doing fantastic

The original fox face is still doing fantastic

The original royal gamma is still doing fantastic

The new Midas blenny is fantastic
The new Springeri damsel is fantastic.

I just wanted to complete my review.

The prices are great
The customer service is great
The selection of fish is great
The shipping was great

The quarantine service…. I wouldn’t add fish immediately to my large 180 display. But with nothing in this smaller tank I wanted to try Dr reef and I did. I think your going to get much healthier fish than just buying fish from a lfs or etc but with the flame angels eyes currently, something made it through or whatever. So I’m not 100% on how I feel on the qt process.

I also am well aware that copperbands are very picky eaters. So I’m not blaming anyone on those two. They looked good.

In the end…. I would order again but I would do an observation period or my own qt before adding to an established tank. The service and selection is great.

Hi
I am sorry to hear that the flame angel didnt make it. I will send you a replacement very soon.
Regarding qt process. Copper is poison and so is prazi and other meds we administer on fish.
Fish are literally going through a very stressful and tough 30 to 40 days. With pretty much everything being administered suppressing appetite.
Thus when they do come out of qt they are weak. Once they start eating we ship them out.
Being realistic, they get harsh treatments at qt facilities and once they start to recover its best to goto better care and homes in customers tanks otherwise they are stuck in over crowded or small 8x8 cubes and keep declining in health.
Thus sometimes some fish do look a little less healthier but that's the trade off for no ich or velvet etc.
I rather have a less healthier fish that has a good chance to live. Even if its 50% chance its better than ich or velvet in which fish has 0% chance to survive.
Anyways we will ship a replacement for the flame again.
Happy Reefing
