Quarantining is significantly less time than what the op is suggesting. Qt ranges from 2z6 weeks depending on the methods involved. The op won't be getting the new tank until December,if that goes as planned. So by the time the tank is actually setup and cycled you are looking at the middle of February. Why not just wait until then?
And if it were just a simple netting of a fish to transfer it, that wouldn't be too stressful. However, more often than not hobbyists spend a considerable amount of time chasing fish around in unsuccessful attempts at catching fish that they thought would be easy to catch. It is those scenarios that are exponentially more stressful.
