Hello Randy:

I was wonder, 2 part dosing consist in Calcium and Alkalinity
Normaly is Calcium Chloride and sodium Carbonate / bicarbonate

Calcium Chloride in Water
"Reaction with water: When calcium chloride is exposed to water, a large amount of heat is liberated, which can cause sputtering and boiling. The end product of this reaction is calcium hydroxide and chlorine gas." source: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2203504

So

Calcium Hydroxide is Kalkwasser, if so, why not to stay just with kalk? is there any reason beside "is what I can found easy?"

Thanks in advance...(and sorry if my Q. is a bit dumb... :) )

The OP in that thread was wrong. Read further down and and you will see that the result is Ca and Cl ions not kalk.

I have used 2 part and kalk and both worked well. I find kalk just easier to make and use. 2-part is much more concentrated and maybe the way to go if you have a limited evaporation rate in your tank.
