First off I have a 20L with a 20g sump. I run a filter sock, bubble magus curve 5 skimmer, chaeto and a rio 2100 return. My tank has been up about 3 weeks and isn't my first tank. I have had 2 reef tanks in the past.

1. Would it help to run some carbon say in my filter sock wrapped in panty hose or something? I want clearer water.

2. There is a bunch of really small white things floating around. I figured it was just sand particles but they aren't going away. Any ideas?

Took a video, Donno if you can see it or not.

Thanks in advance for any comments :)

Im takin a stab at this. Looks like just normal PODs to me. Copepods.

If you used Live Rock, then thats what my bet is, PODs.

The rock I used was sitting out of water for 4 months but was sitting in a tub with about 3'' of water. I used it to cycle my tank. I did just add a small ball of chaeto. I guess they could have came from that.

True, Cheato is a good home for those things.

But I have a sponge on my return pump. Not sure they could get through there or not.

True story. Well in that case. Sweet! Haha. Still question remains about carbon... My water is so cloudy.

Put carbon in a media bag and place it where the flow goes under your baffle. I think in a sock would be too harsh.
