20 long as qt

I have been using a 20 long for my dt. decided to clean it out and rehouse my starfish only. to keep my shrimp alive. I have been doing fresh water changed in it to bring down the copper levels. draining it and then waiting 24 hours and then retesting it. then draining it. and etc... since I haven't used it in a while i yesterday i tested it. it read .88ppm then waited 24 hours and tested it again .22. i drained it an refilled it. since I used coffersafe. what else can I run to help remove this or are water changes good enough. I have only used coppersafe in the 20 just once. looking for advise on this. Thank you.

im using it as saltwater but im not going to waste my salt. so fresh water is being used. when i get 2 straight readings of 0 or close to 0 then i'll draing it again and refill it wait 24 hours and retest twice and after 48 hours still no leaching then ill add salt at that point.
