Ok so I think I have made a decision on a skimmer.... Since I don't have a sump yet.

Corallife for a 220 that has brackets for hanging out side of the tank.
Hopefully it will get my phosphate under control and the gha gone. Lol
Along with water changes
 
Nope still have GHA right now, but it is decreasing a lot. I'm sure it will come roaring back the first chance it gets
You should release a whole bunch of critters to graze on it while it decreases. Once the algae shows sign of weakness, that's when I attack via manual and crab removal.
 
I have a bunch of micro hermits, and snails, but the hippo tang is useless for the algae lol. I've scrubbed and pulled it out, I've even used h2o2 which works really well.
 
Lol, I swanny, I've got to pull rocks and soak them and see if it will help with the phosphate. They were dry rocks that we bought from amazon for saltwater aquariums. But I think they're releasing phosphate back into the water.
