So over the summer I got in touch with a few builders and came to an agreement with Miracles Aquariums. The tank is a 6’x3’x1.5’ peninsula with a single piece euro. The tank is also drilled for a closed loop as I have no intention to run pumps in the tank. As of right now the tank is about to be shipped back to Miracles to get some missed details addressed. I haven’t decided on everything yet which is partially why I’m starting this thread.

Stand that needs a light hanging attachment which I’m not sure on the configuration at this time.

My Giesemann Spectra. Just making sure I could figure the lighting out atleast. I have 250w radiums ready to go and will be ordering ATI t5s. Not in a rush on the t5s and I haven’t decided on the mix although it will probably be blue+ only. Also I’ve been considering adding orphek 5’ led strip to run with the t5s but that is also not a major concern at this time. When the time comes I’ll be looking at the actinic or custom spectrum.

These next couple pics are to give an idea of how close of a fit the Spectra is to the ends of the stand which plays a role in how the light hanging arm may be configured.

Lastly and sadly my tank waiting to be shipped back..

I just want to get out there that I’m working on a build as well as the decisions I’m facing or might make. I’m a night shift nurse so expect some very odd response times.

I love the closed-loop option. The tank looks very nice. I can't wait to see the build come along. I am following. Keep posting pics. What type of sump?

Looks like it's going to be a great system once you get everything figured out. Thx for sharing and GL.

I’ll definitely keep posting pics as I’ll need the old timers on here to chime in on things I may be doing completely wrong. This is my first large tank build in all honesty. I’ve bought a 75g that was completely finished, plumed to a t and ready to go but I barely ran that tank.
As for sump.. well I’ve been looking but I’m just not sold on any commercially available design. Although one comes close! I’m liking the tideline sumps but 48” and 72” don’t meet my exact needs/wants one is too long and the other isn’t wide enough. Also I’m kind of wanting a large refugium/frag area in the system. I’m planning on dual returns in the sump so that chamber will have to be decently sized. Although I’m not decided on where I want the sump as far as under tank or in Maintence room.
