So it has finally started. The tank arrived the other day along with the stand. I like the idea of the overflows with but inlet and outlets hidden but I don’t like the max 600 gph on each side. The plan is to convert the overflows into herbie drains and run the inlet flow behind the tank.

Here is the herbie drain set up I did. I decided to use the adjustable tubing that the tank came with so I just play with the depth of it. I had to run to my LFS to get all 1in bulkheads because the tank came with 2 1in and 2 3/4in but they were barbed.
I also ran a 1inch pipe for the inlet to the tank which will be T’d off inside the tank for water flow.
Plumbing is the fun part for me at this time because I want to make it look clean but functional

So this is what I decided to do with the plumbing aspect. I am running both my main drains into the own separate holes in the sump and the emergency drains were T’d into one hole. The main lines have shut off valves. And each set of lines will have a union installed on it to make my life easy. I just need to install a union on the one emergency line and another on the inlet piping.
I am not running pvc straight to the pump just as a place holder until my silicone tubing arrives.
I forgot to say I have a trigger system 39 sapphire sump.

Here is the aquascape so far I like the center aspect lots of pass thrus for the fish and currents. I plan on making a small island to the right of it between it and the caribsea tree closer to the front. The left side I don’t know yet.
Planning on also adding a manifold location for future proofing for a reactor.

Update on the tank. Got a few residents in there and they are thriving

For fish:

Black dvinci clown
percula clown
Royal Gamma basslet
6 line wrasse
Golden Head Sleeper Goby

For coral:

GSP
Duncan
Acan
Green toadstool.

The clowns were the first I added then the royal gamma were added after a QT. The Royal came from the LFS with Ich so it was my first time running copper. What a stressful thing lol. He is full of personality and swims up to me and stares all the time.
The 6 line and Goby just finished the QT process and are in the tank. The Goby made a den and chills in there and the wrasses made the rockscape on the right side his home.
The royal gamma and wrasse had a stare down and the gamma took the win

I have the same tank. Great choice for wanting to have a nice size reef.
