I always question the scapes when I first do them but this one is growing on me quickly. I like the "jungle" or "natural" look, I think the other styles are nice too. If the hair grass takes off ti will be even better looking. I've considered putting the co2 diffuser in the back chamber and may still. I read where it was suggested to have that style in a high flow area, that away the co2 bubbles have more contact time with the water. I worry if I put it in the back chamber It wont be as good of flow. Although it would be nice to have zero equipment in the tank.
It seems like there would be the most flow in the back of your tank if all the water is going through there. What do you think about putting the co2 under your return pump and letting the impeller dice it up before it blows it into your tank? I had a surface skimmer made by Rio on mine that had a small power head driving it. There was a Venturi port on the intake that my co2 line went into. The impeller would dice up the bubbles and they would be blown downward. It worked nicely to handle my co2 but not that good as a surface skimmer. I eventually pulled it out just because thought the glass bubbler was better looking.

Not a bad idea, and your right that probably is the most flow back there. I may end up moving it.

Sorry guys, haven't been around just been insanely busy. I don't see it slowing down for a couple of weeks either. First weekend of may I'm going fishing so it will by then. Hows everybody been?

Good work on getting your walk in!

Like many others, I have been quite busy. I'll be back at it tomorrow and will post my run.

Just had call from a local wanting a custom 300 gallon for his Discus! Off to search for some 1" cell cast acrylic. 60"x40"x25" should be quite impressive.
Sounds impressive, we need pictures.

Another one down @crusso1993

Well done.

Couldn't get out there today. Long story = short story = my oldest dog has come to the end her days. Going to have to take her in tomorrow. Pretty tore up about it.

I’m sorry to hear that man, I dread the day with mine.

Thank you guys.

It was a very sad day and I'm still broken up about it. I had found her 13 years ago living under a van. At that time, the vet said she was probably about 4 or 5 years old. Bella went through some of the worst times of my life and was everything I could hope for in a best friend. I will miss her terribly.
Here are a couple pictures of my Bella. The first one is from 5 years ago and the second one is a couple of years ago before she lost her eyesight.

She's a cute little fuzz ball, I'm glad she got to spend the majority of her life with you. She probably feels as lucky to find you as you did her. Some times we need them as much as they need us.

Little update on the tank, some plants are taking off and some aren't. My hair grass is not showing any signs off growth yet, but the pennywort, monte carlo, and a few others are. The bottom of my tank is fairly shadowed with the heavy vegetation at the top. At some point I may have to except that there wont be the carpet I wanted with out pulling some of the bigger plants. If i get forced to choose I'll drop the idea of a carpet plant. I like the look of this tank. Water is still hazy, I'm changing socks every few days and they are still coming out brown as mud. So it may just take some time to get all the silt out of the water from the substrate. Either way I'm happy with the progress and It wont be much longer till have some aquatic life in the tank.

I'm having a tough choice between concentrating on shrimp or going with a fish dominated system. If I want shrimp I will have to choose fish accordingly, if I don't then it opens my options some. If I go no shrimp, there will probably be a ram of some kind, but if I go shrimp that won't be an option. If I go shrimp, then I will have to start researching more on shrimp safe nano fish. I kind of want to go a little unusual and maybe more exotic. At the same time, I really like some endlers and may just put a big group of males in the tank.

Looking good to me. To shrimp or not to shrimp? That is the question.

I'm going to try to have both shrimp and fish - hoping the rock crevices and heavy planting will provide enough cover for the cherry and amano shrimp, which are already in the tank. Or, at least they were added to the tank (no fish yet) - I saw them the first day, then from the next morning on, nothing. Where did they go? No carcasses and no shrimp...
