Sounds great on paper (lcd screen?)!
Yeah pretty much, and has been done but not sure I can pull it off. I think the plan is to fill it when I get my scaping stuff in. I'll let it run for a little bit and then drain it when I get my plants and plant when it's empty to make it a little easier.

I'll be doing the same - tank is now cycling with substrate and water in place - once I make it back home I'll drain the tank, plant, and refill...

For reference, this is when I first planted it.....within 2-3 weeks the lawn was completely filled in like my original picture.

Oh man, that fast. Maybe using decent equipment and ferts will make all the difference.

I haven't purchased a regulator or cylinder yet - was thinking of getting a GLA regulator with a different brand cylinder, but then I saw this just now - is this a good purchase or waste of money in your opinion?

Those are ok. They are very small and will need refilling very regularly. However, much cheaper than a GLA regulator tank, obviously.

I've never used that brand but it looks ok. Amazon reviews say the bubble counter leaked and one said the diffuser leaked. But at the price point it wouldn't be a big deal to buy different ones. From what I've read the threads will match up to regular paint ball tanks, so you don't have to buy the adapter.

edit: diffuser didn't leak it just sucked, sorry about that.

If anyone is interested, there is a guy named Alan Le and he hand makes about the best aquarium regulator money can buy. Of course, if you have certain specs he'll match those specs. All SS or whatever you want. Granted, they are expensive but will last a lifetime or more.

I'll have to remember that if or when my craps out on me.

Below is a pic of one that Alan Le built. There are quite a number of members here that use his regulators on their calcium reactors. I have not seen one bad comment, or even close to anything remotely less than stellar, from people who own them.
In case you , or anyone else wants it, Alan Le's cell number is 408-688-6617 and he prefers text messaging as a means of communication.

OK, my fault for looking - I can never un-see those quality regulators; guess it's going to be GLA or Le for me (any idea what he charges?)
Haha, don't you hate that. I could buy this....ohhhh but look at those.

There's a member here who just had Alan Le build an all SS regulator. I believe it was about $500 or so. Maybe @BfishLpond78 will chime in.
