Current tank update 11/29/2022

My yellow coris wrasse still seems to be unaffected to whatever killed my fish. Not sure as to whether it was velvet or Brook. My Halloween hermit also didn’t make it and I honestly have no idea why. My other hermits, snails as well as my cleaner shrimp are thriving. However I’ll leave his shell in the back of the tank just in the case I decide to give it another shot with the Halloween hermit.

Corals however are doing great. I have some different algae’s throughout the tank but it all seems to be pretty controlled. Nothing that is causing me to get worried. A little algae is always ok to me.

Green Pavona (correct me if I’m wrong) I stand corrected. It’s a Kelly green psammocora. Thanks @Kasrift

Anyone else see brittle starfish reaching out of their rocks? I literally have brittle starfish growing inside one of the rocks. The arms come out of the holes of the rock during feedings but otherwise I have yet to see single starfish in the tank.

EXCITING NEWS!! I literally am walking by the tank for the 1000th time today as usual.. AND at the corner of the tank I see my Halloween hermit chowing down on some algae. I honestly thought I did something wrong and sadly caused the death of the hermit crab.

Funny thing is my GF gives names to all my fish and inverts so when I got him, she decided to name it “Michael Myers” lol… I guess you could say it was a fitting name :face-with-tears-of-joy: :face-with-tears-of-joy: .

Thank goodness for deciding to just put the shell towards the back of the tank. I always had the hopes of getting another Halloween hermit . It turns out he really did just molt. Who knew it would take about a week.

Genuinely had to ask my GF to pinch me because I couldn’t believe it was alive :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Bad photo since the blues are heavy at this time. Hopefully I get a better pic when

Great build; love the butcher block--I used the same stuff to build a hallway built in bench. The lights look great and whiter than what most people use. What settings did you decide on?

I appreciate the kind words. I definitely love the butcher block. I was a little worried about how it would hold up around saltwater but luckily it’s been doing just fine. I do run radions on the ab+ schedule but during the morning I run my schedule more white. Blue is great for building up that color in the sps but something about the 14k halide color I can’t get enough of.

Completely normal. Shows the tank is in a good spot. If things go south those arm won't show anymore. At least thats what I've observed in my tank

Little update: everything is doing well and the coris wrasse still in-effected by whatever was in the tank. Sps are doing pretty well but have noticed some of them getting a little pale. I don’t think it’s a nutrient problem, however you never know since I’m not really testing. But I have no issue growing any gha. It may be the two radion xr30 g4 pros to be honest. Theyre running at 30% and I notice my one frag on the sand looks great but everything up on the rock work is a little pale. I’ll probably go ahead and adjust the lighting a little down to 20% and see how things do over time.

Awesome build thread. The one isn't a green pavona, it is a Kelly green psamacora.

That's a whole lot of power for a not very big tank! Dropping them down sounds like a good start.
Haha yeah, I have a feeling my par was in the 400 plus area if not more. But I will definitely bring it down to 20% and see how things look over the next month or so. Luckily no bleaching which I’m happy about but without a par meter, it will be a lot of guesswork.
