Well, here's a tank that I started for my son as a gift. After being out of the hobby for many years, I wanted to get my feet wet with a smaller tank before I made the leap to something bigger. My plan was to have a sps dominated tank with a few personal favorites included (duncan and gorgonians). I wanted to remain skimmer-less, but ultimately gave in to overcrowding and co2 build up. I didn't add a skimmer until February of this year (two years without). I don't use carbon or GFO, but have a small refugium/ATS in the overflow chamber with chaeto and micro algae.
Here's a pic when I first set it up, Jan. 2015.

Here's a current pic, so much has changed in two years.

That's what I have for now. I'll try to post more info later.
Thanks for looking!

Good looking tank that "you started for your son". Really grew in nicely.

Nice looking tank.

Thanks! I frag the orange cap about every 6 - 8 weeks, it just grows too fast. I'm running out of room, so that's why I'm upgrading to a 90g shallow tank soon.
