How many of you use the max spect gyre 24 hour programs? (Or any other wave maker) i have not set one up yet and I'm wondering what differences you saw before and after. I guessing it is less stressful on the fish to not have to fight current all night, thanks in advance!

Yes and no. Most fish can find a place in among the rocks to have a restful night. But I don't think slowing things down overnight is a bad thing at all.

For me, the biggest thing is, the more random and the more up and down you can get the flow in your tank, the better it is for almost everybody in the tank. Even a little extreme flow once in a while is helpful to get stuff moving out of the rocks and into the filtration system.
