250W DE bulb sugestions

I currently run phoniex 14K bulbs, I was going to add some t5's but like the clean look of the single pendants I am using. I really liked the 400w Radiums I ran in the past.

Anyone know how the Hamilton 250w DE (saw the SE was very close) looks like or have a spectrum plot? What about Aqualine 20K?

Thanks for any tips or thoughts. I just want more of a blue hue and if I can stay with just MH that would be great.

I use the Hamilton se 20k 250 watt bulb. It's not as blue as I thought it would be. But still gives off a pleasant to the eye spectrum. I have that with 4 ati blue plus t5's.

As much as I want to avoid it I have a feeling I will need to supplement the MH

Look into the Hamilton cebu sun fixture if you decide to go that route. I really like mine and it puts everything in one housing :)

Why do you feel the need to supplement it? I run 2 14k 250 watt Hamilton bulbs on my tank with no supplements.

If you like blue some of the Giesemann offerings can be blue. It has been a long time since I used them but I believe the color that is a nice deep blue is the 2100k it is pretty blue but very nice if that is your desire. I used to use these stand alone at an LFS I worked at back in the day and I had no complaints.

14k phoenix hexarc blue is my top choice for DE 250w options these days. My prior top pick was the xm 20k 250w DE. Absolutely unrivaled purple UV hue to it. Less lifespan and Par than the phoenix but who cares in the grand scheme, if you like the look of a bulb just run it.

I do run the 14K phoenix, but want more of the color that the XM's provided or even just more a radium look.

The 20k Hamilton in 250w DE is different than the SE one.

reefs.com/lighting appears to have changed and I cannot find the spectral maps anymore - perhaps I am just too dumb.

If you want bluer than 14k Phoneix, then 21k Gieseman might be for you (Megachrome Blue).
