Found these generators on marketplace. Don’t know anything about them. Which one would be the best brand and best deal for the money?

Only one that comes with 25 ft cord and wheels

I think we have that same model from Habor Freight (last one). We have only used it once when the power went out for over 24 hours. We ran two fridges, a deep freezer, the internet modem and our biocube. I think it really depends on what you expect to need to run off it as to what size or how many you need to have. I realize that wasn't your question. We were happy with the predator we got for what we ran on it if that helps.

The add says 18 hours of run time so almost brand new
I think you are supposed to periodically start the generator after the first run time. So I would be concerned if that one ran for 18 hours and then sat for over a year or longer without it being restarted. Again my understanding of generators is minimal.

Try to find one with an electric start. The pull start ones are a bear.
New would be better if you can. And what the other Becky said. Should be started and tested every few months. Did you happen to add up the wattage you are using? You might be able to get a smaller one.

Yea we should get an equipment list going and get some wattage #s, smaller/new is a nice potential! You can even trim it down to essential equipment, although it's pretty nice to be 100% operational during an outage ;)

Plus you may only need one power outage where you are kicking back in front of a fully running tank before the hubby decides a full house genny is a good idea and you can re-sell the portable one ;)

Can't find my prior mathing at this time, but I run these on my 3500 watt genny with no issues for example: 2 MP10s, Jebao wave maker, 2 150 watt eheim heaters, Inkbird, 2 Radion XR15s, Reef Octo 90 skimmer, Tunze ATO, Plank Feeder. And a Samsung fridge, and misc phone chargers etc.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH BULLIES IN YOUR TANK?

  • I place the offender in an acclimation box for a period of time (jail).

  • I remove the offender entirely and reintroduce them at a later time (rehab).
