I am currently in the process of slowly moving all of my corals from a 29 gallon tank into a 75 gallon tank..Yay upgrade!!! When we finish with the move, we would like to turn the 29 gallon into a FOWLR predator tank. Would it be ok to put a dwarf lionfish, snowflake eel, and possibly a puffer fish (or another dwarf lion fish) in that small of a tank? I know that the larger ones absolutely would not do well in a tank that size, however I cannot find much info on the dwarf species. Any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I would say definitely no to trying the three you mentioned in a 29. That size is really not appropriate for any dwarf LF IMO. You could maybe do one of the smallest Toby Puffers, or a SFE, but not both. Tank is too small and water quality would be a major issue.

Man, that is what I both love and hate about this hobby...Its either go big or go home! lol does anyone know how it would do in the larger reef tank? Im assuming my cleaner shrimp and hermit ccrabs would be goners....what about my fire fish, clown fish, chromis, gobys, etc... I think they are beautiful fish and my hubby really wants one. I got my way with getting the reef tank, so I want him to have something in there he loves too.

Which one are you asking about, the LF, or SFE?

Given the appropriate setup, a 29 may work well for a Fuzzy Dwarf. See here for more info: LionfishLair.com - Lionfish Care Guide

They also have a forum with tons of additional info specific to LF. Read up!

I searched the forum and really could not find much about them at all, which is why created the thread. I really appreciate your help,do you happen to have a link to the forum?
