Is there many decent LFS around this area? I've found 1 (cuttlefish and corals) and they aren't the most friendly nor very helpful. I'm new to the area and could use a solid LFS. Does the Vancouver area have any??

A little update on the 10g Hospital Tank
No Ammonia
Added Cupramine yesterday and is at 0.25 mg/L
Tomorrow I'll bring it up to 0.5 mg/L
I been watching them for six days now. They seem healthy, and eating food but the clown with the full strips has some stringy poo nasty going on. Also to note, after 24 hours I noticed white dots on the bottom of the glass. Not sure if it's Ich or precipitate from calcium.
I'll do the full treatment for 14 days at 0.5 mg/L of Cupramine. then a few water changes and carbon. I'll then start the PraziPro treatment.
Pictures of white dots below

Not sure if the bottom of the tanks brown film is beneficial bacteria or poop, probably both but hey 0 Ammonia!
And yes my hospital tank is more than 10+ feet of my DT and my QT is 10+ feet away from the DT and Hospital tank. The wife thinks I'm a nut case.

The fish made it through the QT/medicine, so I added them to the DT

The display tank has quite a bacterial bloom

I am starting up my coral QT system to be able to weed out the pest.
It is a simple setup just a 2 bulb t-5 light, heater and pump in a 20 gallon long tank.
IMG_20170808_201542.jpg

I got 2 pounds of live rocks with tube worm and Anemonia majano with purple algae and sponge.
IMG_20170808_224720.jpg

Awesome deal right?
I got to bust out kalk paste and blow torch for this bad boys.
Well if it has worms I got bumblebee snails to keep them in check.

A lot of work to keep my DT pest free with a diverse ecosystem of organisms I choose to go in my display tank.

Trying to hot glue the manjano to their death!!!

I am not sure if it will work, time will tell.
If I see more pop-up I'll try using a magnifying glass to burn them off the rock.

I'm just watching the frag tank, and came across a little tiny starfish
It's unwanted by me
IMG_20170811_213404.jpg

It's nice to have this rubble, it's easier to pull out the pest.
When the live rock becomes pest free I'll add it to my DT after a 76 day fishless QT

Got a cleaner shrimp for my frag tank, and frag tank only. The shrimp thinks it is a model or something because it's not afraid of the camera.

The cleaner shrimp is for to clean the junk out from under my fingernails while my hands are in my frag tank.
It's also fun to watch the cleaner shrimp while I'll search for glass anemones and hot glue them from the outside into center of them.
I want the purple and green algae but not the hair algae nor the pest anemones in the DT.

Well I got flat worms in the QT frag tank... It's been 72 days since I added the live rock, hopefully fish diseases are eradicated.

Now should I just live with the FW, or should I try to eradicate them with the FW exit?

Ok it's been sometime from my last post, had one of those life is to busy to post on forums times. I didn't put a lot of time into my tank either. On a positive note I managed to kill off the flat worms in the QT/frag tank. Flatworm exit did the trick after you get most of the worms out of the tank like 95% of them. Then dose the instructed dose on the box but don't run carbon for 30 days or do a water change. Ummm... oh my snails are also dead oops! After 30 days I did a 50% WC and ran a lot of carbon and watch the tank. Didn't take much pictures of the process but the QT tank matured well and had established to a degree, more so then in this old picture of some of the frags I got.

Well let me talk about the main tank which I really neglected, all I did was feed the fish and added RODI water. Corals weren't in the tank so I didn't care about water parameters other than salinity. I did check the water a couple times Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate undetectable, phosphate undetectable 0 nothing. And this is where my problem is.
Nitrate and phosphate are important, bacteria and such likes it. Dinoflagellates got into my display tank after adding macro algea and took over before I could add live rock to get the biodiversity needed to block dinoflagellates. My live rock was in the QT.
I am dosing nitate and phosphate and a little potash and the macro algea looks way better and I add the live rock out of my QT corals too I shut down my QT tank because I had to give a room to my dad that had a stroke so I can help take care of him. So I'm trying to get display tank under control among other things.

I'm trying to get the dinoflagellates to go away, got nitrates and phosphate now and some live rock. Using a bacteria soaked toothbrush I'm am brushing the rocks with it. While I have a UV sterilizer running. Hopefully my DT will look better soon.

Ok making some progress with the dinoflagellates. The UV sterilizer is helping, I also sucked out the sand bed. Nitrate is at 0.10 ppm and phosphate is at 0.05 ppm alk is a little high around 10 dkh and calcium is at high also at 480. Mag at 1300
