3 crown fish died already....

i have a 14 gallon nuvo fusion with skimmer and 3 clown fish died already over the past 3 weeks.
I have other fish such as goby, cleanser shrimp, 4 snails and horseshoe crab. Everyone is eating well and seems very healthy except clown fish. My clown fish wont survive in a tank more than a 2 weeks. What i noticed was 3 of them always stays in right side of a tank and swims crazy, it never even bother to go left side of a tank and it always swims even in night time. Is it due to having too much wave? Im really frustrated and confused, I just cant find what the problem is......

Ammonia would be my guess as your tank has not cycled, also your temp is awfully high. Test for ammonia and nitrates and bring your temp down closer to 77-78. Higher temps has lower oxygen content which may be why they stick to the top corner as well.

and the horseshoe crab gets quite large. like.. the size of your tank large. i'd take it back to where you found it, then find a new lfs. nasty review on yelp optional

3 week set up and that bio load is your problem. 15 gallon isn't forgiving at all.

Don't get anymore livestock, Don't replace the clowns for now.

leave for a month or more.


Go on Youtube and learn about tank cycling.

Not having a go at you it's a common mistake and we've all done it. Poor show if LFS sold you set up like that with fish.

Being patient will keep you in the hobby. Killing fish isn't fun (for the fish especially)

You answered the question yourself.

That tank can not handle the bioload you are trying to put in it.
Patience is key, read up on tank cycling and adding inhabitants. Slow down

I agree it’s likely ammonia poisoning and should slow down with fish additions. Gobies are better able to deal with ammonia than most other fish, which is likely why the goby is still alive.

I would also recommend only 1 clown for that size tank and definitely no more than 2. Clowns start off as male and then the larger and more aggressive one will become female and start to assert dominance over a male. In that size tank there isn’t much space for the male to retreat if the female is too aggressive. Two clowns may work if they are percula or occelaris but 3 is asking for trouble.
