Man there are so many recipes and products flying around. Is any "pure" (as in unscented) Mag Flake and Epsom Salt ok to use for the 3rd part (Mg dosing)? Currently using BRS 2 part for Ca and Alk.

I had high Chloride on my last ICP but I only used Mag Flake for the MG. Seems like I will have better balance using 5 cups Mag Flake (Chloride) to 3 cups Mag Sulfate (from what I gathered at least).

How does one determine daily dosing with the 5:3 ratio? I know per volume its rather weak.

Mag flake is a brand. Do you see multiple products from that brand?

Any USP Epsom salt that lists no other ingredients (scents, colors, etc) is fine. Drug stores in the us carry it.

Yes, 5:3 is the correct ratio for the third part.

Are you doing water changes? If not ant or small amounts, a recipe using Balling Part C or Aquaforest
Mineral salt is a better recipe.

Thanks Randy. I'm doing about 10% a week. Thinking about going to every other week once I get my Trace element dosing dialed in.
