300 gallon pond drain

I am currently building a pond with a 300 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank if anyone has something similar or knows someone who does I'd like to see how the drains are set up. id like this thing to be silent.

What are you draining it Into? Typically people just run a closed loop for circulation which is dead silent. Are you trying to tie in a sump per say?

Yes a sump that be sitting on the same floor if possible. Could you by chance show me an example of a closed loop system?

When I hear “pond” I think in ground that’s why I asked. Is the sump just sitting next to it? You can just plumb the 2 together near the bottom and use a pump to bring water back to the “pond” it would always balance it self out power or no power. If the sump is below it like a traditional tank then it’s a little different.

Yes they would be just sitting next to each other. But there is a little height difference so I could have the drains above the sump but it's only about a foot or so. I haven't done anything yet other than buy the 300 gallon tank. The drawing is very crude but that kinda what I had in mind. I have never done a build like this so I just wanted to know if there was some things I should know about before I drill into the thing.

That’s fine and safe that way.. just have a return pump taking the water from the pond to the sump.

I was thinking more like a traditional tank where a pump is moving water from the sump to the display. I guess it's not too complicated it's just when looking online everyone shows off the fish and not the behind the scenes.
