So I am looking to upgrade to a much larger aquarium but in order to accomplish installing the new tank I will have to move my current 75 gallon display. My in laws have a 300 gallon Rubbermaid that the grandkids used to swim in. I was planning on curing rocks anyways and was searching for a tub large enough to cure enough rocks for the new larger tank but figure I can maybe just use this to house all cristters and maybe also get some live rock cooking. Would it work if maybe I only lit a portion of the tub to keep coral happy and utilize the rest to cook some additional dry rock? Has anyone ever used one of these for a somewhat temporary all in one tank? Any advice or input?

I have all my fish, rock and corals in a 100 gallon Rubbermaid currently and has been going well! Would not be a problem.

Thoughts on adding new sand in the bottom for area or maybe get some marine pure blocks and let them soak a few weeks in the current tank before moving it all over?

I setup my tank with 3/4 of my live rock a week prior to moving fish and corals. Everything has been doing very well actually been doing wager changes weekly to keep everything stable.

My 220 gal tank cracked. I moved everything in a few hrs into a 300 gal rubbermade tub. Everything was in it for 4 months without issue.

Turns out they have another probably 200 gallon tub as well. It also turns out that my wife bought this thing a few summers ago for our kids to swim in at the grandparents house! I bet she never thought it would end up in our basement!
