I currently have a 180 gallon acrlic tank that will be upgraded soon to a 300 gallon glass. Here are some specs:

  • Tank
    • 80x36x24 built by Precision Aquariums who happen to be a local builder to me.
    • Peninsula style, the 3 viewable sides will be starphire glass
    • Eurobraced top/bottom with the top being recessed
    • Internal coast to coast overflow (on one 36" side) drilled for bean animal overflow
    • 3 visible corners will be mitered rather than squared up.
    • Custom stand made by the same builders
  • Sump
    • 55x24x16 built by Advanced Acrylics
    • (3) 7" filter sock holders
    • adjustable baffle to set skimmer height
    • probe/tubing holders
    • white back/sides/bottom/insides with clear front
  • Fuge/Frag
    • 24x15x20 also built by Advanced Acrylic
    • This will be used for chaeto, frags and a couple small fish that my young kids can look at
    • This will sit next to the sump
  • Equipment
    • Return pump: RE RD3 Speedy 230
    • Skimmer: Initially ATB Elegance 200 Pro, possibly upgrade to a BK 250 when fish load grows
    • Lighting: (4) Ocean Revive T247 fixtures
    • Powerheads: (2) Maxspect Gyre 150's

I ordered the tank earlier this year and it should be completed/delivered within the next couple of weeks. I have received the sump and fuge tanks as well as all the equipment.

Here are some pictures:

I have all the other equipment sitting in the sump in the garage at the moment but no pictures of those at the moment.

I will document my build here with pictures of everything including my water change/ato station in my garage and other misc equipment (reactors, plumbing, apex, etc.)

Thanks for looking! Have a great day

It's looking like next Tuesday should be the delivery date for the stand and the tank will come the next day!
I plan to take lots of pictures of delivery date, including a time lapse of going from the old tank to the new. For now here are some random pictures of other stuff I have setup in preparation for the new tank.

My water change/ato station. 2 55gallon containers, 1 for rodi the other for salt water. They are both plumbed to the main tank in the house for use as ato reservoir and for auto water changes. The ato uses an avast marine peristaltic pump and the auto water change uses a Neptune dos.

Also have 2 5 gallon containers underneath for dosing alkalinity and calcium, both with another Neptune dos

Here is the two dos's, the avast peristaltic pump, the rodi booster pump and a dc4 (wired to the apex in the house) to control the mp10 on my salt water storage container to mix up for 10 minutes before the nightly water change.

Some plumbing pieces

More pvc, and some acrylic pieces for the invisible rock lift

8 bags of caribsea arag alive special grade reef sand

and the start of my qt tank! I should be getting the filter and lots of medication stuff today and tomorrow to finish this off.

It's here, it's here!

Well the tank is. The clear coat on the stand is still drying so it will be here either tomorrow or thursday.

Here are some quick pics of it sitting on my living room floor.

Looks really nice but I have a question. Why didn't you put the overflow on the outside edge instead of inside the tank to give more room inside the tank itself? I'm looking to do something similar at some point and will be following along. Looks like a nice build though! Congrats!

Here are some updated pictures. I had a couple leaks because of some mistakes I made. I was on a roll with the plumbing and I forgot to put the gate valve in for the drain so I had to cut the pipe and try to fit it in and it ended up with a leak. Similar thing with the return. So I am waiting on some pieces to come in the mail on Monday and then I'll get it all finished up.
