A couple people mentioned posting a build thread so thought I'd give it a go.
So when we moved in to our new house i knew I wanted to go big with my next tank after years of having multiple smaller ones cluttering up our living space. So when we moved in and I looked at the garage I immediately knew what i wanted to do.

i knew going big would mean big money lol in glass alone, so someone gave me the idea of using a grp koi pond, so that's what i did!

I'm glad I did!!

Its nowhere near where I'd like it to be but it's getting there! And getting to the point you see now has been crazy to say the least.
I've had probably 3 big floods and lost thousands of litres of water and had to spend hundreds of pounds multiple times because I use natural sea water so when it's gone I need to have it delivered to refill it

Some equipment
Lighting is;
14x AI Blade grows
1x Orphek amazonas
1x kessil a500x

Flow is;
6x maxpect gyre ce 350
2x jecod 20000lph pumps

Return pump is;
Ecotech Vectra L2

Skimmer is;
Deltec tc3000 ext

I have 110w uv
I use ozone 24/7

And my testing is managed by the mastertronic.

I'm not to sure what else I can say but you can see some progress pictures below! Il be sure to update as I go. Plenty more coral to add.

A couple things I've had to do to the fish room from when it was just a garage.

*Insulated certain areas

*I've had extraction and fresh air intake fans installed / I noticed a lot of humidity and few patches on the ceiling so thought it best.

*upgraded the electrics so it runs on is own 32a circuit as older 16a kept tripping!

I think that's it.

Also soon to come hopefully
Is a custom lid from toplids! Which il update when it arrives. That'll also involve a new glass centre brace for the lid and blades. So the ugly pvc with rebar inside will be gone! Yay

Doing a water change on the pond the easy way.

I did also change the positioning of the blades and added a glass brace down the centre, which is what the lids from top lids will sit on. I think they are coming in 6 pieces.

Your light setup is crazy looking!

Yeah I like my lighting haha. Last light I bought was the orphek amazonas 960, i like it alot so plan to add their 500W led aswell. Just have to save up a bit
The idea behind it was the blades as the 'sky' if you like, as in horizon to horizon. Then a powerful spot light type light or lights higher up to throw light down through the blades kind of like the sun.

What would be the generall concensus on adding a fluval fx6 canister filter as side stream mechanical filtration for the pond?
At the moment i don't use anything. No socks or filter rollers. I feel like it may work well at not stripping to much but enough for improved clarity.

Pond update! The top lids, lids arrived and are now on the pond. It's a bit cloudy as I was faffing around with wave pumps but pretty impressed with top lids. No more fish jumping!
