You can make a scrubber for next to nothing. There are many ways to incorporate one into your existing setup. See my DIY thread here for some ideas. The only real tricks are to use the mesh roughened up and red and blue LED grow lights. They are inexpensive and algae love the light.

Will you post a picture of your actual setup?
And also of the scrubber?

I have heard of issues with 302 Aquatics and I would recommend Clear water...

Never owned a 302 Aquatics myself though.

Turbo aquatics is supposed to be real good even though I have never tried one. Always were back ordered when I need one because they are so popular..
They are made by Floyd R Turbo from here.

I have a 302 on my 180G.

I replaced both lights and rebuilt/redesigned the tube that holds the screen. It now has an even sheet of water flowing down both sides at the necessary GPH. The way it came was terrible and noisy. After the upgrades it has been producing algae like crazy, more of a franken-scrubber than what 302 provides however...

If I were to ever get another scrubber instead of building, it would be from Tubro aquatics. I have only heard good things.

I dont know how handy you are, but you could certainly build something pretty cool to your liking. Might be route for future scrubbers.

i got a clearwater cw100 on my drilled 40b. 2 months now.. got a good bit of algae on it now. seems to be working.. the cw 100 is rated for 2-4 cubes of food a day. A bit big for a 40b, but plan on moving it to a 130g. give them a look too.

I got one from floyd of turbos aquatics recently. It actually was not very long a wait even though I ordered it over the holidays. Floyd is very good about responding to emails to make sure he gets your order correct and builds the scrubbers with the best reviews!

For $800, I would rather get a cheaper option. I am not using this for primary nutrient control, but more of a test. I will still be skimming and changing out 4 gallons a day with Fresh SW using an AWC system.
