312 Gallon new build direct from the factory

Been a crazy few weeks, had to put the dog down, on vacation, MIL in hospital from a fall, etc.

Tank is cycling and I put my Dr. Reefs order in. I plan to meet be my current fish and the new fish at the same time to hopefully cut back on any aggression.

Looks great! What did you order from DrReef? Have you ordered from him before? I have never ordered fish online before and really considering going with him.

Very nice love it!

Sorry for the delay, yes, I have ordered from Dr. Reef in the past. I've been happy with the fish and they are easy to deal with. Most of the fish in my current tank came from Dr. Reef or Biota. I don't have the setup or experience to be comfortable doing my own quarantine.

Beautiful setup ! How do you like the ultra reef skimmer ?
It's very well built and completely silent. I've had it running with the tank empty so it wasn't producing any skim mate and was putting out a lot micro bubbles. Now that I have some livestock in the tank, it's producing good skim mate and the bubbles have stopped.

Alright, we're making some progress. Did the cycle with Dr. Tims, added the lights, some macro, pods, phytoplankton and some corals and two fish to keep things moving along. Currently, have a little ugly stage going on but livestock seems happy.

I plan to keep adding corals this weekend. The Dr. Reef's order will be here next Friday and I'll move the rest of the fish at the same time. I'm hoping adding most fish at the same time will cut back on aggression.

For now, I put the Vlad the Vlamingi and Penny the Copperband in the tank to get settled in first. Vlad had been in my frag tank longer than expected and was growing fast. I wanted to get him in the big tank first. He was mostly hiding until I was able to catch Penny and put her in. He immediately came out and started following her around the tank. Pic below

Making Progress!

Got my fish order in Friday, I put the new fish in first and then moved the remaining fish left in my other two tanks. I was primarily concerned about the yellow tang, boss of my reef tank, and the 3 purple tangs I had in the frag tank. The move went well with little to no aggression. The only casualty was a green chromis but Dr. Reef included an extra one since they can be sensitive shippers.

My cell phone pics aren't great even with the filter. Figuring out how to take better pics is on the list.

Fish are settled in and got most of the frags mounted. The tank is going through the ugly phase and I'm letting nature take it's course. I'm getting a snail cleanup crew from ReefCleaners this Wednesday. I moved the snails from the old display but there wasn't that many left.
