I think you would be happy with a sump system. Anything bigger than a 20g I am not a fan of AIO's. Your future plans will bring change and a bigger tank might become unmanageable. The goal would be to stick with the hobby no matter what the future brings. So finding that balance is important.

Agree on that. I’ve watched other people’s build threads and seen how much they have changed. Actually, one thread did catch my eye and the tank shown was pretty much my goal tank. Aluminum base, nice sump system, rimless, and clean. Around 57 gallons but nothing too crazy aka the CADE REEF 600 S2. I think that will be my goal one day. For now, I’m going to keep growing my current tank. Everything is doing well and the coral and fish are thriving. The only thing I have to keep replacing are the blue hermits. A lot is changing in my personal life (good stuff!!) so right now the future is bright and I am super hopeful with whatever this hobby brings. It’s honestly been such a a joy to be apart of the community and see family and friends admire my tank.

Starting a new build today... Aqua Japan 60g EXT... So will see how that goes... All my tanks are overgrown, so it's a necessity not a luxury. lol...

How long did it take for your tanks to get overgrown? I haven’t bought new coral in awhile but mine are growing slowly but surely

The Frankencube was started about three years ago. I started selling extra corals at swaps about a year and a half after that. ( I did have some fast growing ones )
I built the frag tank pretty much 2 years after the I built the cube. Which was last year. Now even with selling corals locally and Reefapalooza and AquaShella. I am to a point where coral warfare is a huge issue. So this is the reason I am going to another tank to replace the 30g AIO which was supposed to be my Caribbean biotope, but ended up just being a tank that I threw in extra frags.

So this was most of my weekend... I am really happy with this tank. Shame it will be just to hold frags. If I had my druthers, I would replace two of my other cubes with this size... I am going bare bottom so I added the vinyl on the bottom. I did this with my 25g frag tank and I like the light reflection. I believe it helps bounce light around for the corals.
Do you not have frag swaps near you? I know we are spoiled in California, but it would seem there has to be something for you.

I cannot contain my excitement! Guys, I might be updating my tank to a Pro Clear V2 60! I found an amazing deal on marketplace and might be picking it up this weekend. It’s a slightly bigger tank (not much) but come with a lot and was my dream tank after eyeing a fellow reefers on this form. I really tried to get the seller to sell me the Hydros but sadly the price is not within my budget so I will probably acquire that down the line. I am so so pumped! Going full sump mode will be a change but rather excited. That being said, I am not sure if I should start a new build thread once I setup that tank. The tank will be coming with a Nicrew 200 Gen, AI Axis 90 Pumo, AI Nero 3, AInorbit 4, Simplicity 240 DC Protein Skimmer, and an Ice Cap Heater.

A little update: Fluval is reaching the end of her saga as in a weeks time everything will be moved and shut down and she will be sold (hopefully). I’ve truly enjoyed modifying and making this tank my own and the many hurdles she came with but I’m pulling up my big girl pants and starting with something bigger and out of my comfort zone.
