Yes, we’re still meeting monthly. If you contact Greg Carroll gcarroll1969 on instagram, he can add you to the email list to be at the next meeting. Instagram is best way to reach him! We meet over Zoom, not in person.

As far as joining, I’ve been trying to for a couple years lol but I just got back into it and last time I tried was Covid. We don’t have to be members to attend but to win raffles and such yes.

My gyre pump has a lovely hat this morning.

Pulled the trigger. No more All for Reef. Kalk and small adjusts with two part should be just fine with my water change schedule.

Picked up a kalk reactor from Two Little Fishies.

I’ve always wanted to try kalk so the time is now!

All for reef just wasn’t working well for me this time. I feel like being bacterial driven it works better in established tanks. The tank responded very well to me stopping all for reef and only dosing Red Sea A and B.

I’ve seen the use of kalk in others tanks who’ve mastered the use of it, it’s time for me to understand kalk.

No, I’ve really enjoyed being able to pull out and clean my refugium. Having it modular has worked great for me. Even if I ditch the refugium I have space for my kalk reactor and future reactors as well.

Update for the R2R homies.

It’s going good! Very happy with how the side profile is turning out! Added a cleaner shrimp that’s really cool to see hanging out under the rocks. Also added some astrea snails for getting the small spaces that my trocas cant. And an awesome urchin that’s just destroying the long algae. And of course I’ve added some new corals.

I’m very glad I picked one up! My tank is almost free of algae. What’s he gonna eat now!? Don’t want it to starve.

Our family is moving to Colorado!

Maybe we’ll get to visit the reef builders studio!

I will definitely be getting a tank set up in the near future!
