I'm thinking about replacing my mp40's on the sides with gyres, which one would be best? Tank is 36x36x16, glass is 11mm thick. I have sand and it's an sps dominant tank.
Thanks!

I have the 350s mine is a six foot tank but I wish they were even stronger. They don’t cost much more. I’d go with the 350s and you can always turn them down if it’s too much. I’d imagine running the 350s at less than max power would probably help the longevity of the pumps compared to maxing out the 330s too but that’s just guessing my part.

True, but I don't want to push half of the water on the floor with one wrong button push. o_O It's a wide shallow tank, so I don't think I'll max out either one.

Anyone from Maxspect confirm if the 330 will hold firmly on 11mm glass? I'm trying to keep the smallest footprint possible, but I'll go bigger if necessary?

11mm (0.43 in) should be fine since they advertise their XF330 mode for up to 0.5 in

I just installed two XF350s on my 0.75 in glass yesterday and it was ok. It’s not a super strong hold but they do stay in place. I had read of people saying they had problems with the pumps not holding on 0.75 in...

Thanks! I just don't want to spend the money only to find out I should've gone bigger. One reason I love Tunze, they have stronger magnets for most on there pumps.

Hi, thanks for your support. as is written on our website:

XF330 could hold up to 15mm/0.59 inch for standard magnet, and if it uses one more XF350 dry end magnet
as reinforced magnet, it could hold up to 20mm/0.79 inch;
XF350 could hold up to 20mm/0.79 inch for standard magnet, and if it uses one more XF350 dry end magnet
as reinforced magnet, it could hold up to 25mm/0.98 inch;

And if you want to know how to install the reinforced magnet, please kindly send an email to [email protected]
we could send you the installation pictures.

Picked up a pair of 350's, holey moley do these things push a ton of water. Too much for my tank, will be going with the 330's and the stronger magnets. I couldn't go above 20%, so I couldn't use the tidal modes, which is really what I wanted to use. I would say a 4' tank is the minimum length for the 350's. My foxface isn't too happy with me right now.:oops:
Now I need someone to buy the 350's so I can pick up the 330's. :rolleyes:
