My concern would be chemicals leeching from the 3D printing material.

That was really cool to watch. I am a tech guy so I think this is something down the line (when I can affod it haha) I would totally see myself doing as a side project!

Very cool - and very well thought out.

When you go to reprint the parts that warped, try painters tape - we have found that, for PETG, there really is nothing more effective when it comes to the large flat parts than tape. there are few brands that work better then others, but if you have a Frys Electronics nearby - the blue painters tape they sell in big sheets, seems to work pretty well.
