3d rendering

Does anyone on here know how to or can point me on the right direction on doing some 3d rendering of my new build. I'd like to start with that and then I'll do my tank build post.

My drawing sucks so this is the best option lol.

One of (if not) the easiest programs to use is SketchUp. You're able to make pretty much anything you want, you can download already made models of equipment and such. It's fairly intuitive and straightforward.

A couple of models I've done,

It can become a little addictive hehe


The best way is to experiment, start out by doing a square box, then a tank etc. Don't start by doing too many details, but try to create a full model and then improve that piece by piece

Oh and if you need reef related models to import and use:

Sketchup models - Post yours!

I guess many of us have fiddled around with [Google] Sketchup once or twice when planning our tanks, DIY projects, or even rooms. It's a great tool, so how can we as a group make it easier? ;Bookworm We share our models for all to use, just to make it a little bit simpler or "plug and play"! :p...

Definitely, I actually think the mobile app only allows you to view, rotate and measure things, not actually edit them.
The computer version is completely free though

People do some amazing things with Sketchup pro. I personally use SolidWorks.

This was me too. But I need alot of dimensional and an awesome system to show off.... I just need to get it out of my head. Lol
