A better way than adding salt is to just replace evaporated water with seawater until you get to your goal.

Guys
The calculator says 3kg but ai says 800g
So which is it ?
I’m going off 1.024 - 1.0255

Got it — you want to raise the specific gravity in your marine aquarium from 1.024 to 1.0255 in a 380-litre system. Let’s carefully work it out step by step:

1. Understand what this means

  • Specific gravity (SG) of natural seawater is usually ~1.026 at 25 °C.
  • Raising SG from 1.024 → 1.0255 is an increase of 0.0015.
  • Roughly, 0.001 SG ≈ 1.3–1.5 g salt per litre (rule of thumb, varies slightly with temperature and brand of salt mix).

2. Work out the grams per litre needed

  • Target increase = 0.0015 SG.
  • Approximate salt per litre = 0.0015 ÷ 0.001 × 1.4 g ≈ 2.1 g/L.

3. Apply to your tank volume

  • Tank volume = 380 L.
  • Total salt needed = 380 × 2.1 g ≈ 798 g.

✅ Answer: You’ll need about 800 grams of marine salt mix to raise salinity from 1.024 to 1.0255 in 380 litres.

⚠️ Tips:

  • Dissolve the salt in a small amount of tank water or top-off water, then add gradually — don’t dump dry salt straight in.
  • Re-measure after mixing, since evaporation, rock displacement, and accuracy of your refractometer/hydrometer all affect the reading.

Do you want me to also give you the calculation in terms of cups/spoons of typical reef salt mix instead of grams?
