Hello,

I have a 4 bulbs Aquatic life T5 and planning to put in my Nuvo 40- mixed reef.
Normally, I see it here that T5's are hanging and not sitting on a tank with the four legs on it.
I don't want to hang it that means drilling holes on the ceiling, cords hanging- things like that o_O

Anyone here has a 4 bulbs fixture that are just sitting on a tank?

Thanks!

Not any more. But it’s common. Less so now days.

Is there enough room to work and feed the fishies?

Congrats on the new toy....err.. Light!

With any new light there is the possibility of it spurring some alge. Any new light, lol. Having a convo about SB leds elsewhere.

Heat , just keep an eye on the temp to see what happens. Pretty much a will see.

As far as too much, you’d have to know about how much par you had before and a little about the spectrum of it.
Most likely you’ll be giving less of a blue spike imo. Even if the the par is the same. But adding some needed wavelengths elsewhere. They have a much more analogue spectral curve.

Also compared to leds they have a faster “fall off” , so same par on the top wil generally be a bit less par on the bottom.

But IMO. A lot of that is splitting hairs really.
IMO , that’s probably the exact fixture you want on that tank at about the exact Heith. If its. A bit too much heat , two or three inches will help it. (You’ll be able to feel it with your hand or an instant read thermometer after its on for a couple hours.

I think your going to like it.
