Wow, that is a HUGE clean up crew. I wouldn't even consider putting that much in my 120. You might want to consider getting rid of some of that or change your order if possible as you will probably have quite the die off of critters which might fowl your tank.

The online calculators are highly overrated and should be cut at least 1/4 of what they recommend.

Uh oh... Sorry to hear that. Might want to donate to the LFS or someone else. Basically there will not be enough for them to eat so they will starve. They might be OK for the first week or so but after all the food/algae is eaten up they will starve. I ordered 1/6 of what was recommended for my tank and I still had a lot starve.

I think I have roughly 12 trochus snails, 2 cerinths, and 3 blue legged hermit crabs. The reason I went with trochus is because I've been told they will breed if conditions are right. Basically buy once and you're done. I like the cerinths as well but didn't get as many.

Is it common practice to ship snails in no water? or just a little water and a wet paper towel?

Yep. I was surprised by that too. Ready the instructions that came with them to acclimate them. If it smells nasty they are DOA. I had a bad batch show up once and they were quick to send a new batch.

Well one of the bags smelled nasty but that was cause there was a hitchhiking hermit that didn't make it, lol he tryed to smuggle his way out to end up dying.

Tank turned to pea soup
IMAG0343.jpg

Tryed everything, blackouts, cleaned everything, carbon, chemi pure, big water changes helped for about 2 hours then it was back to that.

2 weeks of frustration when i read online a uv steralizer will do wonders...

Now keep in mind i haven't actually seen past 1/2" into my tank in 2 weeks seen 1 blue chromis.

Bought a 24w uv steralizer from petco it was the only one they had.

Went home and hooked it up the next morning it was clearing WOHOO

3 days later

Think about 25lbs the ones on the right and the ledges in the middle are solid limestone from the creek they need replaced eventually with real porous rock.

Think you meant swamp!!
Ya it is a great day!
Now i need to figure out if and how i want to do a sump/overflow<-- i know im tired of looking at all the crap hanging on my tank, what pump to get/ what overflow to get what powerheads to get ect.. will be a looong stretched out build lol money is sparse.

Nice. Would limestone leach into your tank and throw things off? I think I had twice as much rock as you in my 40b and guys were gassing me about not having enough live rock. Its Coming along. Thanks.

They were in my 29 and had no ill effects if anything it'll help with the ph.
I plan on adding about 10 more lbs of rock im going for the minimal look, was even thinking about taking out some rock and having it open.
I really like all the caves then are my favorite look in tanks

Those zoas you have are probably palythoas, zoa's tentacles have rounded ends, paly's have pointed ends. I've usually just heard those called button polyps, under good actinic lighting their center will turn a bright neon green.
