Alot of people use end tables or dressers for stands. Get you some finished ply wood and some trim molding. Put finished panels on it and cover the edges with trim. Thats what trim is for is to hide imperfections and give it a finished look lol. I love trim and molding lol

I was in that situation. I went with a 20 long to allow working room over water volume.

My father had a 55 with a double stand and found another 55 for it. It fit but it was a 55 tall. Had like 2 inches between tank and stand

What's your dimensions? Of inside stand space?
I dont have them right off hand a 20 long would fit inside I just couldn't get it turned into it my brother built the stand and I think put the braces inside instead of out as that was what was preventing it from getting turned inside

Id definitely make the stand the way I like. If your not happy with it it is just a pain.

So I got this today All Wood we have weight tested with 500lbs with my 40 Breeder and a 20 high sump should I still reinforce the sides and bottom? Or could I do the braces as needed after adding the tank? Also the piece is bigger then what the tank is in both length and width

That's scary. You're asking furniture not designed to hold anywhere near that weight to hold around 600 lbs. While a piece of furniture might be able to hold that weight for a short time, long periods of time holding weight are vastly different on a piece of furniture.

honestly, if it were me I would cut out the internals, like a U shape and slide it over a stand and use it as a decorative shell

Paying someone some money to build a stand is an option as well, it shouldn't be terribly expensive. They might even be able to cannibalize that stand to do it.

My current stand isn't great hard to do any work in the dump right spaces all around pain I full intend to add support both inside and under where needed but wasn't sure if it was something I could do as I go with the tank in place or better to do before hand
