i am building a new tank set up . i sold my last one and am downsizing. this one will be built as cheap as i can. i have bought 4 tanks for this build from petsuppliesplus at their dollar per gallon sale. a 40 breeder (main tank), 20 long (sump), 2- 10 gallon tanks, one for ato and one to mix saltwater for water changes. i have left over supplies from last tank that will be used with this one, an apex, tunze ato, maxspect gyre, various hydor power-heads, heaters, ink bird controller, 1 radion xr15 g4. all electronics will be hidden, sump will be beside the display tank and maybe grow some mangroves in there.

Started building the sump. I was fitting my skimmer in and broke the pump attachment. Used some dap rapid fuse , says it bonds all plastics. Now im going to let it cure for a while and hope it works. I have the skimmer section 11.5 inches long and the fuge section
Is 6.75 inches long return section is 4 inches long. If i have to replace the skimmer i can go to the 4 inch reef octopus and make the fuge section 2 inches longer.

It has been a while but today i drilled the aquarium. My first time and couldn't be more pleased. I had to order a drill guide from lowes, wanted to make this a successful task. The wife wanted the house painted and busy at work, but i have time now to finish this.

Almost done with the main stand. I have 2 slides for 2 10 gallon tanks. 1 tank will be make up water the other tank will be salt water for water changes. I will have a small recirculating pump in the saltwater tank. I put them on slides so i can pull them out if needed. The sump stand will house the electronics no water under that tank so hopefully i wont have any corrosion.

I have water flow. I had to fix a leak on the sump. Now everything looks good. Rodi water for now. Maybe this weekend i will add salt. I want to make sure there are no problems. Some of my equipment has been idle for 2 years. Forgot how to program the maxspect xf330 gyre. Glad we have the internet. Still waiting on the loc line for the return pump. The tunze ato still works great. Just plugged the heater into the inkbird controller, will find out in the morning how that goes. But so far everything looks good.
