Hey so I'm going to just make a few posts here about my first saltwater aquarium. It's a 40 gallon breeder, I'll update it ever so often

I diy a sump from a 10 gallon aquarium, it's made to hold the skimmer but don't have any fish so it's overkill for the load, used to have this petco led bar that was for freshwater but just purchased a ai prime 16 HD, going to purchase another one soon. Plan to make it a reef community tank

Binder clips.... you may want to do a little better then those unless you want to be cleaning up the eventual flood. Your still early on in your build why not just drill the tank and add an overflow. Its going to save you a lot of headaches in the long run.

That’s what I thought - second that - drilling ain’t as scary as it sounds plus it’ll be safer long term and looks good! Good luck whatever you decide though!

I'll most likely drill the tank, because yes binder clips aren't the best way to secure plumbing and I don't really like the appeal of all the plumbing right in your face. I've never drilled a tank so I don't know what to expect tho. And thank you for the compliment

On a side note I got some diatom coming in the aquarium. And I plan to add 2 emerald crabs and some more snails after I drill the tank
