I was thinking on building Diy light fixture. The original plan was to use 12 cree xp-e 3w blue led and 12 cree xt-e 3w royal blue led for the blues and for the white i was thinking using 3 or 2 T5 HO. The tank would consist of some sps and Lps. I would appreciate your suggestion thanks

I'm ordering this: Odyssea T5 Aquarium Lightingn a year I'll upgrade the bulbs to ATI's.

I figure since I'm going to make my own canopy I'll just cut the legs and use some sort of bracing to strap it to the inside of that.

no need to cut it apart. Just gut it and save the outer casing. Also, some diy reflectors, or store bought reflectors will help immensely.

this is the light I currently have over my 36g bf. It's going over my 40B as soon as i move and get a stand built for it. :-)
